The Associated Press (as printed in The Spartanburg Herald on August 17, 1966) reported on the conclusion of KAKC's ban after Lennon's apology, "Spokesmen for KAKC, Tulsa, Okla., KTEE in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and WABC, New York City, said they had lifted the ban in view of Lennon's apology for his remark that the Beatles were 'more popular that Jesus.'"
