According to the Brenham Banner-Press on August 8, 1966: "Tom Whitehead Jr., manager of Brenham's KWHI Radio Station, said they have made no official policy concerning the Beatles; however, their announcers have not played any Beatles records since the publicity of Lennon's statement. 'We only have one hour a day set aside strictly for rock and roll,' said Whitehead. The disc jockey for that program during the past week has not played any of the Beatle platters." 

This appears to have been a de facto ban rather than an official one.
