WOGA burned and probably banned The Beatles!
The Atlanta Constitution reported on August 6, 1966, "The stations, WAYX in Waycross, WTIF in Tifton and WOGA in Sylvester, announced 'Beatle bonfires' in the near future."
The Columbus Enquirer in Georgia also wrote on the same day, "Sylvester station WOGA asked its listeners to call in and voice their opinions on the idea of burning Beatle records. It said it received more than 300 calls, with only three persons saying the recordings should still be played or that they should not be burned. WOGA said it would hold its bonfire Aug. 13 in front of the studios."
(While a ban is likely is has not been confirmed.)
This station is defunct.
